Venezuelan Songstress Norka Luque is Making a Big Splash in the Recording Industry

The dream of many musicians is to make the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine. But the cover of Rolling Stone is reserved for people that have made a contribution to society in one way or another, and recording artist Norka Luque is in that category. The people that are part of the recording industry live a challenging as well as a charmed life. Many artists live in the moment and write about their experiences in each moment. Norka Luque is one of those artists.

Norka Luque was born in Caracas, Venezuela 30 years ago. Norka showed an interest in music at a very early age. Her parents recognized her talent. When Norka had a chance to audition for a part in a musical when she was eight her parents didn’t hesitate. Norka was cast in the Shakira inspired musical in 1994, and that fueled her love for entertaining. The Luque’s decided to move to Miami so Norka could be educated in the United States. Norka was an excellent student. She continued to take voice and piano lessons until she graduated from high school. Rather than attending a local college, Norka decided to study in France. Norka loved France, and she was enamored by the French way of life. When the opportunity to join a rock band presented itself, she took it. Norka became the lead singer in the eclectic group, Bad Moon Rising. The group developed a loyal following, and Norka became a local star. Some of those fans still follow her career.

When Norka graduated with a business degree as well as a degree in fashion and the culinary arts, she decided to take a position with a financial firm based in Monte Carlo. Norka got a taste of the business world, but in 2007, she realized that music was her passion. She came to that realization while she attended a Ricky Martin concert. Norka packed her bags and moved back to the Miami area. Luque started looking for a job in the music business. In 2008, she met Emilio Estefan, and that’s when her world began to change. Estefan offered her a recording contract. In 2011, Luque’s first single was released, and the reviews were great. Her single stayed on Billboard Latino Chart for weeks. In 2012, her second single, Milagro, got excellent reviews from music critics in the United States. Her 2016 release, Tomorrowland, is being played by Latino and mainstream radio stations, so she is making a big splash in the recording industry.
